Associations between per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease in adolescents and young adults: modifying roles of age, lifestyle factors, and PNPLA3 genotype
13-11-2025Studies in youth on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) are limited. The study aimed to evaluate associations between PFAS and MASLD risk and the modifying role of age, lifestyle factors, and genetic risk. We analyzed data from two independent cohorts: the Study of Latino Adolescents at Risk of Type 2 Diabetes (SOLAR) following adolescents aged 8-13 years over 6 years (n=162; recruited between 2001-2012); and...

Association between COVID-19 vaccination and atopic diseases in US adults: A retrospective cohort study
13-11-2025COVID-19 Vaccinations are associated with higher allergic reactions risk among adults. However, evidence on whether no vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine is associated with fewer incidence among individuals with atopic diseases remains limited. This study is to investigate whether COVID-19 Vaccination is associated with increased risk of adult atopic diseases. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using data from the 2021 US National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) that included 29201 respondents...

Socioeconomic Status Related to Prescription of Triple Therapy and Anticholinergic Monotherapy in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Sweden - A Retrospective National Registry Study
13-11-2025CONCLUSION: Prescription patterns were associated with small, statistically significant differences, between COPD patients with low and high socioeconomic status. Triple therapy was more often prescribed to patients with low socioeconomic status, and monotherapy with LAMA more often to patients with high. The reason for this is not clear but may be caused by differences in exacerbation rate between the socioeconomic groups.
