Study on Lactiplantibacillus plantarum R6-3 from Sayram Ketteki to prevent chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced depression in mice through the microbiota-gut-brain axis
20-03-2023The prevention, mitigation and treatment of depression has become a global issue that needs to be solved urgently. Sayram Ketteki, a traditional natural fermented yoghurt from the region with the world's fourth highest life expectancy, has been known as the "longevity secret", whose longevity and anti-depression factors are speculated to come from its rich microorganisms. Therefore, for the first time, we systematically studied in depth the microbes of Sayram Ketteki, screened a new edible...

The potential of the Lempel-Ziv Complexity of the EEG in diagnosing cognitive impairment in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy
20-03-2023CONCLUSIONS: The LZC in the alpha band might have the potential to be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis of TLE combined with CI. The TLE-CI group, on the other hand, exhibited a higher degree of complexity in alpha oscillations, which were widespread and occurred in all brain regions.

Clinical characteristics associated with relapse two years after electroconvulsive therapy for major depression
20-03-2023CONCLUSIONS: Depressed patients with psychotic features, with higher symptom severity and without medication resistance prior to ECT have a significantly decreased risk of relapse after successful ECT. A sustained remission rate of 50% over two years in patients with severe major depression who were treated with nortriptyline monotherapy after successful ECT is encouraging.

Dry mouth effects from drugs used for depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorder in adults: systematic review
20-03-2023CONCLUSIONS: Psychotropic-induced dry mouth is a poorly researched area, and well-designed RCTs of newer psychotropic drugs using standardised objective and subjective measures are indicated. Given the ongoing use of TCAs for treatment-resistant depression, prescribers need to remain vigilant for xerostomia.

Occupational fatigue and health of gas station workers: A review
20-03-2023CONCLUSION: Shift work and the specific working environment of gas station employees adversely affect their sleep, stress levels, physical and mental health, and turnover intention. This systematic review allowed us to consider the occupational risk factors that can lead to sickness or accidents and contribute to reducing these risk factors. Realistic countermeasures ought to be established and interventions must be explored to mitigate risks to life, property, and the environment in operating...
